Here is your chance for taste the food @ Pattaya

Here is your chance

There are cooks and there are “Chefs.” There is fast food and there is fine dining. The trick is to find the same quality food that is served in the fine dining restaurants at fast food prices and it has to be prepared by a European educated, trained and experience chef.
You can have this experience at “Le Petit Liegeois” Restaurant Belge which is located inside the door at the new “Carefore” store on Central Pattaya Road. This is your chance to eat great tasting food. The taverne opens at 9am-11pm and the restaurant opens at 11am-10pm. You must understand that this restaurant has been awarded the “Chaines de Rotisseries” which is the highest culinary award from the Chefs of the world. This is the Chefs choice of restaurants. The tavern serves soups, salads and pasta plus that extra special French bread. This bread is called “Dagobert.” The bread is made like the bread from Liege in Europe. It is crispy and fresh French bread and it is soft on the inside. It is so good. The Chef and his staff use this special bread to make the best sandwiches that my Thai wife and I have ever tasted. Yes, something as simple as a sandwich reaches new heights of gastronomic taste. You got to try this sandwich. They are big and very satisfying and the best part is they only cost 75 Baht to 150 Baht. Some of the sandwiches are tuna, ham, smoked, cheese, Brie, smoked salmon, chicken curry, the Chef’s pate and ham and cheese. It sounds so ordinary but you must try these sandwiches and only then will you understand how good they taste. At 11am the main restaurant opens.

They have a selection of full meals. You will find appetizers that cost 65 Baht, the Chefs specials and a verity of wines and the most interesting food that you have ever tasted. Treat yourself to this experience. It is a “must do.” It’s the little things that will impress you, like the sauces with the meat dishes are prepared on the spot so the sauce is at its peak of taste. It’s all about taste and quality and verity. Maybe, you should see the set menu. It is 210 Baht. Maybe, you should stop in for anything on the menu.

This is your chance to taste the food of a fine dining restaurant at fast food prices. Bon a petit.

8 Steps toward a More Satisfying Life

8 Steps toward a More Satisfying Life

Do you want to lift your level of happiness? Here are some practical suggestions from University of California psychologist Sonja Lyubomirsky, based on research findings by her and others. Satisfaction (at least a temporary boost) is guaranteed.

  1. Count Your Blessings. One way to do this is with a “gratitude journal” in which you write down three to five things for which you are thankful—from the mundane (you peonies are in bloom) to the magnificent (a child’s first steps). Do this once a week, say, on Sunday night. Keep it fresh by varying your entries as much as possible.

  2. Practice Acts of Kindness. These should be both random (let that harried mom go ahead of you in the checkout line) and systematic (bring Sunday supper to an elderly neighbor). Being kind to others, whether friends or strangers, triggers a cascade of positive effects—it makes you feel generous and capable, it gives you a greater sense of connection with others and winds you smiles, approval and reciprocated kindness—all happiness boosters.

  3. Savor Life’s Joys. Pay close attention to momentary pleasures and wonders. Focus on the sweetness of a ripe strawberry or the warmth of the sun when you step out from the shade or air-conditioning. Some psychologists suggest taking “mental photographs” of pleasurable moments to review in less happy times.

  4. Thank a Mentor. If there’s someone whom you owe a debt of gratitude for guiding you at one of life’s crossroads, don’t wait to express you appreciation—in detail and, if possible, in person.

  5. Learn to Forgive. Let go of anger and resentment by writing a letter of forgiveness to a person who has hurt of wronged you. Inability to forgive is associated with the persistent rumination of dwelling on revenge, while forgiving bolsters positive feelings about your past and gives you peace of mind.

  6. Invest Time and Energy in Friends and Family. Where you live, how much money you make, your job title and even your health have surprisingly small effects on your satisfaction with life. The biggest factor appears to be strong personal relationships.

  7. Take Care of Your Body. Getting plenty of sleep, exercising, stretching, smiling and laughing can all enhance your mood in the short term. Practiced regularly, they can help make your daily life more satisfying.

  8. Develop Strategies for Coping with Stress and Hardships. There is no avoiding hard times. Religious faith has shown to help people to cope, but so do the secular beliefs enshrined in axioms like “This too shall pass” and “That which doesn’t kill me makes me stronger.” The trick is that you have to believe them.

Live, love and laugh. Live long and prosper. Think Positive.

Do you need a get-away?

Do you need a get-away?

Do you need a place for you and your friend to have an intimate and fun time in a beautiful place? Find their ad in this paper under the “Water Fall Café.” They are located about 20 meters off of Sukhumvit Road, Moo 6. Tel: 038-413 082 or 07 145-5189.

This little get-away has a waterfall, ping-pong on the roof garden, snooker and darts. I love the roof garden. There is a winding staircase that leads through the trees to the roof. The main room down stairs is decorated in black and black light. It is so cool. They are open everyday, except on Sundays. This is another great place for those that don’t want to be noticed but want a nice place to relax and have fun with your friend.

A Nightmare in Pattaya

A Nightmare in Pattaya

Have you noticed the new No Parking signs on Central Pattaya Road and South Pattaya Road? Yes, my friends, there is no parking on this roads from 09:00 until 24:00 except across the street from the Thai Farmers Bank on South Pattaya Road where there is only one no parking sign that reads 18:00 until 24:00. I wonder where the parking begins and ends from that one no parking sign ? ? ?

Are you sitting down? This is going to get even more complicated. Have you taken your blood pressure medicine? This is going to make you Mad.

On one side of the street the no parking signs read in Thai that there is no parking on that side of the street on odd days and on the other side of the street there is no parking on even days.

How's your Thai? Can you read Thai? You will be expected to be able to read the no parking signs and know which side is no parking on odd and even days. Notice how the other cars are parked and do what they are doing.

I guess it doesn't matter because everybody is ignoring the no parking signs.
I wonder what the logic or intent was to put no parking on these streets? I wonder where are we to park if we want to go shopping on these roads? Oh, I get it. We are to park on the other side of the street but that means we might have to turn around if we are coming to town from the wrong direction. This is going to be difficult.

However, this traffic problem might get better if there is some no parking on these streets but it needs to be clearer and the police need to enforce the no parking laws.

Welcome to Pattaya. Live, Love and Laugh.

A Lifesaving Implant

A Lifesaving Implant
An abdominal aortic aneurysm is a balloon-like bulge in the aorta often linked to hardening of the arteries. It is a dangerous condition. If it bursts, it’s usually deadly. But tracking aneurysms may soon be easier. In the past, a “stent” was placed in the artery to keep blood from accumulating in the aneurysm. The size of the bulge was monitored through lengthy and expensive CT scans every six months.
Now researchers, led by Takao Ohki of Montefiore Medical Center in New York, are testing the “EndoSensor,” a device that allows doctors to measure pressure, which is a key factor in preventing ruptures. It’s implanted near the stent in a minimally invasive procedure. To monitor the aneurysm, a doctor waves an electronic wand over the abdomen.

The wand picks up radio signals from the sensor, which are translated into a pressure reading. Since there’s no radiation, the aneurysm can be monitored more often, which allows doctors can detect changes sooner. If pressure is high, the stent may need to be replaced. The “EndoSensor” could be available later this year. Live long and prosper.

CardioMEMS, a member of Georgia Tech’s Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC), is pioneering a new breed of testing devices to monitor heart patients. Combining wireless communications technology with microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) fabrication, CardioMEMS’ products can provide doctors with more information while making testing less invasive for patients.
Deborah McGee of CardioMEMS examines an EndoSensor in the company's clean room facility in the ATDC Biosciences Center located at Georgia Tech's Environmental Science and Technology Building. The sensor is implanted to measure pressure in an aneurism being treated by a stent graft.

In June, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) approved CardioMEMS’ investigational device exemption (IDE), which enabled the company to begin clinical trials in the United States for its EndoSensor™.

The EndoSensor measures blood pressure in people who have an abdominal aortic aneurysm, a weakening in the lower aorta. This condition ranks as the 13th leading cause of death in the United States. If the aneurysm ruptures, a person can bleed to death within minutes.
Doctors can treat the aneurysm with a stent graft, a slender fabric tube placed inside the bulging artery to brace it and relieve pressure by creating a channel for blood flow. Still, the stent can fail, resulting in leakage of blood into the aneurysm, which can cause the aneurysm to burst. For this reason, lifetime monitoring is required.
Safer, easier testing Up to now, doctors have relied on CT scans for testing, but CT scans have limitations. “One problem is that CT scans only show the size of the aneurysm,” explains David Stern, CardioMEMS’ chief executive. “Yet pressure, which is what our device monitors, is the most important measurement.”
CardioMEMS engineer Michael Fonseca uses a laser to separate pressure sensors in the company's clean room facility in the ATDC Biosciences Center located at Georgia Tech's Environmental Science and Technology Building.

CT scans are also time-consuming and expensive, Stern adds. And for patients who require lifetime monitoring, there’s a safety issue due to repeated exposure to radiation and contrast dyes that are toxic to kidneys.
CardioMEMS’ biocompatible sensor, which is implanted along with the stent, monitors the stent more effectively than CT scans. It’s also cheaper and more convenient. During checkups, patients don’t even need to remove their clothes. The physician merely waves an electronic wand in front of the patient’s chest. Radio-frequency waves activate the EndoSensor, which takes pressure measurements and then relays the information to an external receiver and monitor.
CardioMEMS conducted its first U.S. implants at the Cleveland Clinic in July. By the end of December, approximately 100 patients in four countries (the United States, Canada, Argentina and Brazil) had received sensors. CardioMEMS will submit resulting trial data to the FDA early this year, and Stern hopes to receive permission to start selling the EndoSensor by mid-2005.
Deborah McGee of CardioMEMS prepares a batch of the company's pressure sensors for a final cleaning step.

“Our trials show the EndoSensor is safe and producing good data,” reports Stern. “Doctors are enthusiastic because the sensor is very easy to use even though it’s complex technology.”

Elephantastic Experience in Pattaya City - Thailand

Elephantastic Experience

How close can you get to an elephant? Well, if he is a grown up male, who is having his once a year period of aggravation marked by musth coming out of the sides of his head, you'd better stay away.
He is 4 ton's of anger! But, how do you know when he is on musth? It takes an expert and at Pattaya Elephant Village, they are experts! At the Pattaya Elephant Village, not only can you get close to them in complete safety, you can you even sit on their backs! There is a lot to learn about working elephants and their training. This training used to take 10 years to complete. Both male and female elephants are strong workers, but dominant and large male elephants workers can be hard to handle; they usually accept only one master.
Did you know that they normally have the same master for their whole life, which can be 80 years? That’s dedication to a job! Every day at 14.30 hours, there are demonstrations of how working elephants and their masters lived, worked and much more. This show is not like many other elephant shows, where the elephants do tricks, like standing on one leg or playing football.
This place is dedicated to the working elephant and the way they were used in Thailand in the past and are still being used in the Royal parks today. Another function of the Pattaya Elephant Village is that of a home for sick and injured former working elephants. Due to sickness and injury, these elephants are no longer suitable for heavy work and need a lot of care.
They can still do light work and their health can be maintained with herbs growing in the park. But an elephant is just like a horse, often in need of a vet and sometimes expensive medication. Just feeding an elephant is quite expensive it consumes 200 kilo's of fodder a day! Besides the demonstrations, there are different treks to be enjoyed throughout the day. We did the one hour trek on the back of an elephant.
This trek takes you through some nice countryside and it was great fun for us and the kids. Despite his own weight of 3 to 4 thousand kilo, the elephant majestically plodded along and hardly seemed to notice our weight on his back and that of his master on his head; you feel like a maharaja.A little excitement part way through when one elephant had an itch in a deep stream and started to rub his behind on the bank with two girls and his master on his back. You can have it all on video to relive the experience later.
After the trek we were taken back through similar terrain in a Land Rover. On our way back, we had a visit from a small monkey climbing from kid to kid in the car, bringing a lot of yells from the kids. When we got back to the Elephant Village, there was some excellent fruit prepared for us and we had a first look at the video.
Conclusion a very nice outing, close to Pattaya with lots of fun for kids and adults!

Save Money on Gas - 5 Ways to Improve your Fuel Economy

Save Money on Gas - 5 Ways to Improve your Fuel Economy

Savings usually start with everyday, basic things. One thing we all take for granted, but should take time to improve is our fuel efficiency. We all know we're burning through gas as if there's no tomorrow, but we can do a few things to help ourselves. These are five things you can do immediately for no cost that will save you a few bucks at the pump.

Fill Your Tires

Checking tire pressure gauge

Usually the quickest way to get a few extra miles out of a tank of gas is to refill your tires. Tires should always be at their maximum pressure, and they need to be checked after winter because most will lose air during cold weather.

The idea here is pretty simple. Tires create friction with the road. When they are low on pressure, the part touching the road flattens out and creates a larger patch that contacts the ground. Because of this large patch, they create more friction and your car wastes more gas trying to move them. By inflating tires to their max, this flat contact patch becomes more like a point, with very little rubber touching the ground. The less area touching the road, the less friction you'll have, and the more gas you'll save.

Tire manufacturers usually label their tires with a higher maximum pressure than the car manufacturer recommends. I generally lean toward the tire's upper limit. You'll get a little extra efficiency, but you should note you may give up some stability and handling by exceeding the car maker's recommendations.

Close Your Windows

When I was growing up, I remember a lot of people telling me to open windows instead of using air conditioning because it saved gas. This may have been beneficial with older cars, or low speeds, but anymore it's just a myth.

Dog with head in wind out car window

In truth, drag is one of the biggest enemies to fuel efficiency. Drag is the force pushing against the forward motion of your car, literally because your car is dragging air. Remember when you were a kid and you stuck your hand out the window? The air would push against it so hard, your hand felt as if it could fall off. When your windows are open, air comes into the car and is captured by your seats and rear window. You're in essence pulling a huge mass of air with you, and it's many many times more than your hand grabs when you stick it outside.

The air conditioner may use a little power from the engine, but the drag created by open windows (especially at highway speeds) is a far greater factor.

Throw Away the Junk

This seems simple, and many people write it off as negligible, but the extra weight you carry in your car does cost you in gas mileage. Why would you want to tow something you don't need? Most people have newspapers, magazines, books, work files, extra shoes, etc. cluttering up their car. Getting rid of these things not only cleans up your car and makes it look nicer, but you'll save on gas. If you worry every time gas prices go up by a penny, you should worry about every pound of useless weight in your car.

Drive Patiently

Most of our driving habits are anti-fuel efficient. You would be surprised how much gas you can save just by easing up on the gas pedal. Have you ever slammed on the gas when you get a green light, only to slam on the breaks when you get to the next red light? Have you ever had to slam your breaks on the highway, then hurry to get up to speed again? These situations, like many others in everyday driving, can be avoided by anticipating what's ahead and being patient. You'll be a safer driver, reduce your road rage, and you'll save an alarming amount of gas.

Change Your Oil

Oil poured on gears

Any time you can reduce friction, you will improve fuel efficiency (as with your tires above). So, naturally you should go after the thing that's doing all the work, creating the most friction, and burning fuel-your engine. It's normal cycle creates a lot of friction, but oil is there to reduce it.

As oil gets older, it is filled with contaminates and breaks down, becoming less viscous (slippery). By changing your oil frequently and using high quality oil, you will improve your gas mileage. Check your fuel usage before and after your next tune-up, and you will see a noticeable difference, especially if you're driving an older car.

Savings Estimate

Try some of these and you'll soon see savings at the pump. If we assume the average person drives 15,000 miles per year and gets between 15 and 20 miles per gallon, such a person could realistically save $300 or more per year by watching their driving habits.

The table below is a summary of potential savings. The chart assumes two things: driving 15,000 miles per year and improving fuel efficiency by 10%. With these things in mind, look for your average fuel efficiency on the left and find where this row intersects the column corresponding to the average gas price in your area.

Fuel Efficiency Chart

For me , Now I am in Nonthaburi near Bangkok that happy to save money on Gas. After read this paper then I want to share all your concern.

Then I redecision to make my TOYOTA care to make dual fuel with GAS and BENSIN. Now everything finish after ask my brother help me to organize it. Sounf perfect when he did it for me.

Yes!! I can save my money even GAS still higher that before. But everything will be good feeling more than before. I suggest you to make LPG GAS modify at my young brother garage at Monster Garage , so you can find more information at his web as http://www.monsters-garage.com/th/

Don’t become another statistic! especialy in PATTAYA

Don’t become another statistic! especialy in PATTAYA

If you drive in Thailand, try to bear in mind that it is one of the most dangerous countries in the world to be on the road or the sidewalk. Things are improving, but slowly. It takes time to change to driving habits of the entire population of the country.
  • Drive Slowly; At low speeds, a driver can cope with the constant sudden changes in traffic situations. Most insurance policies do not cover injuries sustained in motorcycle accidents.
  • Assume that the other vehicle that you encounter has the right-of-way.
  • Use your rear-view and side mirrors frequently. Monitor the situation behind, and both sides of you. Move slowly to the left to get out of the way of faster vehicles trying to overtake you. Vehicles will pass you from both sides.
  • Use your turn signals. Any move out of your on going direction, you should signal your move. Use your electric turn signals or use your hand signals. Some way you need to let the person behind you know that you are slowly moving to the side of the lane or are intending to turn the corner or are intending to stop. If you intend to stop in traffic, do it slowly and make sure the vehicle behind you knows that you intending to stop and give them plenty of room to go around you. Move out of the way of on coming traffic and give them a place to pass you. Vehicles will pass you from both sides.
  • Use you rear-view mirrors frequently. It is very important to know what vehicle is coming up behind you or intending to pass you and from which side. Vehicles will pass you from both sides.
  • Motorcyclists should use the left-shoulder motorcycle lane where available by law, even if you have a big bike. Always wear a good quality helmet. Use other safety equipment. Get prepared to crash you motorbike. Watch out for dogs running onto the road. Vehicles will pass you from both sides.
  • When it rains the roads become extra slippery. The oil that has dripped from under the vehicles has sunk into the road and when it rains it floats to the surface of the road. This is especially dangerous for motorcyclists when they are trying to slow down at intersections. Any sudden attempts to put on the brakes of any vehicle will cause the vehicle to skid on the oil slick wet road. Beware of potholes hiding beneath puddles of water after heavy rains. Some potholes will be very deep.
  • Drive defensively. Put no faith in stop signs, traffic lights or rules of the road but honor them yourself. Vehicles will pass you from both sides.
  • Don’t allow yourself to become angry by rude drivers. It’s pointless and it only aggravates an already chaotic situation on the roads. Be calm, courteous and respectful.
  • Have a plan when you are involved in accident.

Happy Holiday !! Have Fun !!

Do you want to beat “Jet Lag?”

Do you want to beat “Jet Lag?”

Long-haul travel can get you to some amazing places, like Pattaya – then jet lag spoils the first few days. There are ways to overcome it, says Dr. David O’Connell, author of ‘Jetlag: How to beat it.’If you shift time zones by more than six hours on a trip that’s at least three days, it’s worth taking these steps:
  • Adjust your watch before boarding the plane or even the night before. On the aircraft, act according to your “local time.”
  • At you destination, force your body clock to adapt straight away. If you need to stay awake when you feel like sleeping, listen to upbeat music, work on a crossword, take exercise, eat chocolate or drink coffee. To make yourself sleep, darken your surroundings, drink milk, eat yogurt, chicken or tuna, take aspirin or a herbal sedative (such as passionflower).
  • Take melatonin supplements when you’re on the plane and it’s your destination’s bedtime. Combine with either a sleeping pill or alcoholic nightcap, and use for several further nights.

How one teenager lost his life buying drugs online.

How one teenager lost his life buying drugs online.

Francine Haight had never let her kids have a TV or computer in their own rooms. “I wanted them to be with the family, so the computer was in a study we had off the family room, says the former nurse, who stayed home full-time with her three children in a suburb of La Mesa, California. She kept pretty close tabs on them all, and took good care of them too.

So when her 18-year-old son Ryan, an honors student, came home that night three years ago, after his Sunday shift at the local Kmart, she sent him off to soak in her Jacuzzi tub while she made his favorite soup, spicy chicken. After dinner, Ryan played Nintendo and then listened to music in his room until, around midnight, Francine tried to shoo him into bed. “But there’s no school tomorrow,” he answered, reminding her that the next day was a holiday. So she kissed him good night, told him not to stay up too late and went off to bed herself. “He gave me a hug, said, ‘I love you, Mum,’ and that was it,” she remembers tearfully. The next afternoon, when Francine got back from running some errands, she discovered that Ryan still hadn’t got up.

She went into his room to check on him – and found him dead. In the heartbreaking chaos that followed, a police officer discovered a bottle of pills in Ryan’s room. “Did you know about these?” the officer asked Francine. She hadn’t, of course. She hadn’t known he had used the Internet to order the pills that took his life – which turned out to include a potent painkiller hydrocodone – nor, as she puts it, “that he could get drugs without even leaving the house. We didn’t know we had to worry about the drug pusher in our study.” Except from Reader’s Digest Asia.

Who can you Trust? Plenty of online pharmacies are honest businesses – experts think they actually outnumber the sham ones – and they offer big advantages; You can shop the Internet for the best prices, you can buy certain drugs without embarrassment, and you can do it all from the comfort of your armchair.

But how can you be confident an online pharmacy is legitimate? One sure sign is if the site has the VIPPS seal of approval. That’s a certification from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (VIPPS stand for Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites), and the seal must be displayed prominently on the business’s website. You can also check the NABP’s website for a list of pharmacies that have earned the VIPPS seal (nabp.net).You should be suspicious of any online pharmacy that:

  1. Doesn’t require you to mail in a prescription.
  2. Doesn’t speak to your doctor to ensure your prescription is valid.
  3. Doesn’t ask you to do more than fill in an online questionnaire.
  4. Doesn’t have a toll-free number and street address listed on its website.
  5. Doesn’t make pharmacists available to answer questions about the medications.

Be on guard, too, if the site sells only “lifestyle” medications, like drugs for impotence, obesity or pain. Source: National Association of Boards of Pharmacy

Car rental tips , to rent car in Thailand and pattaya

Car rental tips , to rent car in Thailand and pattaya
Before You Rent
How long will you be renting? If it's for less than a week, you'll probably do best with a major rental company, such as Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National or Thrifty. For rentals of a week or longer, you may get better rates from local companies, particularly auto dealers. Remember, however, to be wary of local companies if you plan to drive a lot; if you break down or get into an accident, they usually lack the support services of the majors.

Internet Resources
Always shop around, even on the Web. Major companies often offer Web-only discounts -- take advantage of them whenever possible. Check the individual car rental Web sites. If you're booking online, read the restrictions carefully. If you're booking on the phone, make sure to ask the agent about restrictions. Always be sure to check out our selection of bargains before making any reservations.

Renting Tips
Ask about discounts for major national organizations, frequent-flier programs and credit card programs you may belong to. They'll frequently offer deals on car rentals. Those offered through AAA can be very good. If you're employed by a company that frequently rents cars, they may have a negotiated rate. Make sure to check.

Be sure you understand the conditions of your reservation. Is there a penalty for no-shows? How long will the car be held if you're stuck in traffic on the way to the pickup station? Is there a fee for additional drivers and must their names be listed in the contract? Is your 20-year-old daughter old enough to drive the car? (For liability reasons, this is important.)

If pertinent, ask about any restrictions on interstate travel. For your own protection in case of breakdown, be sure the company has offices in all the states on your itinerary.
For one-way rentals, ask about drop-off charges. They can be exorbitant.
Always get a confirmation number. For airport rentals, be sure to give the customer service representative your flight number and scheduled arrival time. This will usually protect your reservation if the flight is delayed.

The Basic Rate
The rate you see advertised in big print may become so inflated with state and local taxes, airport surcharges, additional driver fees, insurance and gasoline bills and drop-off charges that you end up paying more than double what you expected. Also, the advertised rate may be valid only in off-season Florida or California, when many cars are idle there, but not where you want to rent. Finally, it may be only for a car size that you would find unsuitable.

Travelocity is taking away some of the mystery surrounding car rental rates: they're the first on the Internet to offer "total pricing" for cars. Your total rental cost (including all taxes, surcharges, and fees) will be calculated prior to making the reservation, guaranteed to be within one percent of the actual rate. We recommend utilizing this service when booking any car rental so that you're not shocked by all the additional fees.

Like the airlines, the major auto rental companies have adopted "yield management." That means that their computers can quickly readjust prices according to changes in the supply of cars available. This means the rental rate you are quoted is valid only at that moment. Unless you reserve immediately, the rate is likely to change.

At Pickup Time
If your first drive will be from an airport to a hotel for the night, why not take a shuttle van to the hotel instead? Doing this may save you the price of day's rental. In major cities, you could also probably pick up the car downtown. Even if you must drive the same day your flight lands, you don't have to necessarily get the car at the airport. By picking it up downtown, you can often avoid hefty airport surcharges.

If you have personal auto insurance or charge the rental to a major credit card, you will probably be covered at least for collision damage. If in doubt, ask your insurance agent or whoever issued your card.

Be wary of prepaid gasoline plans. Always fill the tank before returning the vehicle, as rental car companies can charge up to several dollars a gallon to refuel.
Before you drive away from the pickup station, inspect the car carefully for body damage. Be sure the lights and turn signals are working properly. Check the mileage odometer. Report any defects to rental personnel at once.

Upon Return
Be wary of returning the car early. It could be expensive because your rate structure may change. Also be sure the check-in attendant inspects the car's body in your presence and that you agree about any damage. Examine your rental agreement carefully for all charges and make sure they credit any deposit to your account while you wait.

Enjoy your holiday !!!!!!!!!!

10 Driver Safety Tips

10 Driver Safety Tips
Wireless telephones or mobile phones or cell phones or whatever you want to call them, gives you the powerful ability to communicate by voice, text messaging, photos, video, games and internet access almost anywhere and anytime. But an important responsibility accompanies the benefits of these phones, one that every user must uphold. When driving a car, driving is your first responsibility.

When using your phone behind the wheel of a car, practice good common sense and remember the following tips:

  1. GET TO KNOW YOUR PHONE AND ITS FEATURES SUCH AS SPEED DIAL AND REDIAL. If available, these features help you to place your call without taking your attention off the road.
  2. WHEN AVAILABLE, USE A HANDS FREE DEVICE. If possible, add an additional layer of convenience and safety to your phone with one of the many hands free accessories available today.
  3. POSITION YOUR PHONE WITHIN EASY REACH. Be able to access your phone without removing your eyes from the road. If you get an incoming call at an inconvenient time, if possible, let your voice mail answer it for you.
  4. LET THE PERSON YOU ARE SPEAKING WITH KNOW YOU ARE DRIVING; IF NECESSARY, SUSPEND THE CALL IN HEAVY TRAFFIC OR HAZARDOUS WEATHER CONDITIONS. Rain, sleet, snow, ice and even heavy traffic can be hazardous.
  5. DO NOT TAKE NOTES OR LOOK UP PHONE HUMBERS WHILE DRIVING. Jotting down a “to do” list or flipping through your address book takes attention away from your primary responsibility, driving safely.
  6. DIAL SENSIBLY AND ASSESS THE TRAFFIC; IF POSSIBLE, PLACE CALLS WHEN YOU ARE NOT MOVING OR BEFORE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC.Try to plan calls when your car will be stationary. If you need to make a call while moving, dial only a few numbers, check the road and your mirrors, and then continue.
  7. DO NO ENGAGE IN STRESSFUL OR EMOTIONAL CONVERSTATIONS THAT MAY BE DISTRACTING. Make people you are talking with aware you are driving and suspend conversations that have the potential to divert your attention from the road.
  8. USE YOU PHONE TO CALL FOR HELP. Dial 9-1-1 or in Thailand 1-1-2 or other local emergency numbers in case of fire, traffic accident or medical emergencies. Remember that it is a free call on your phone in most countries.
  9. USE YOU PHONE TO HELP OTHERS IN EMERGENCIES. If you see an auto accident, crime in progress or other serious emergency where lives are in danger, call 9-1-1 or 1-1-2 in Thailand or other local emergency numbers, as you would want others to do for you.
  10. CALL ROADSIDE ASSITANCE FOR SPECIAL NON-EMERGENCY PHONE ASSISTANCE NUMBERS WHEN NECESSARY. If you see a broken-down vehicle posing no serious hazard, a broken traffic signal, a minor traffic accident where no one appears injured, or a vehicle you know to be stolen, call roadside assistance or other special non-emergency phone numbers.“The phone industry reminds you to use your phone safely when driving.”
Live long and prosper.

Domain Name Suggestions -Build Your Online Identity

Domain Name Suggestions - Build Your Online Identity

.ME Registrations at MyDomain.com

When choosing a domain name for your business, there are three rules: short, memorable, and easy to spell.

  1. “Short” is pretty self-explanatory. You want the shortest available name that ends in .com.
  2. “Memorable” generally means that the name somehow directly relates to either the name of your business or the name of its key product or service.
  3. “Easy to spell” is also self-explanatory. If your name is Kodzuleskizicz, you may want to adopt the “Hollywood approach” and come up with a new “stage name” that will be easier to spell.

In fact, this last example would be in opposition to all three of the basic rules, right? How do you find the names that are available? The basic tool is the whois lookup, a tool that will tell you whether or not a name is available or already registered to another company or individual.
Every domain name registrar will have a whois lookup tool, usually embedded into the home page of their website.

Build Your Online Identity : A domain name, such as dotster.com, signifies your own address on the Internet. Because no two parties can ever hold identical domain names, picking a domain name lets you have a truly unique identifier of you or your company. It is how your site visitors and customers will remember you and find you among the millions of other websites on the Internet.

At dotster.com, we have a basic whois lookup tool available at the following page on our site: https://secure.registerapi.com/services/whois.php?siteid=4798 The basic idea is that you cannot simply enter an address into a browser’s address bar and assume that a domain name is available simply because a site does not appear.

Furthermore, you generally do not want to deal with trying to negotiate the purchase of a domain name which is already registered by another individual. At best, this is usually a costly process that is not worth the time and effort, let alone the expense.

What you need to do is to get creative and to keep looking. In almost all instances, any domain name which is based upon a single word in the English language was probably already registered several years ago. The same goes with many of the most logical two-word combinations. Three-word combinations (or hyphenated word combinations or domains that end in anything other than the .com suffix) are far less desirable (and often get too long to be practical).

How can you make the whois lookup process more efficient and useful? My suggestion is to try the free tools found at the Domain Tools website. One of the best of these tools is the Whois Lookup and Domain Name Source tool. This tools provides a wealth of useful information, not only when searching for a domain name but for checking the status of an existing domain name. It will show the basic whois records (name, address, phone number, and e-mail address of the registrant, administrative contact and technical contact, along with the nameservers, and dates or original registration and expiration), but it also shows a whole lot more. This additional information includes a screen shot of the site’s home page (along with historical thumbnails), the site’s title and meta description, the site’s DMOZ listing, server and registry data associated with the domain, a calculated SEO score, and the site’s Alexa, Complete and Quantcast rankings. Another very useful tool when looking for the best available domain name(s) is the site’s Domain Suggestions tool. With this tool, you enter your desired domain name or product concept to generate a list of possible names that might be appropriate, showing which ones are available (or already registered) under the .com, .net, .org., .info, .biz and .us top level domains. For example, I just entered the term “lawnmower repair” and found that lawnmowerrepair.com (as well as .net, .org, .info, and .biz) was already registered; however, I was provided with several useful (and available) suggestions, including mowerrepairsite.com, mowerrepairworld.com, mowerrepaironline.com, mowerrepairdirect.com, and others. Useful information?

You bet! Take advantage of every online tool at your disposal in order to run your business smarter and more cost-effectively.
